Gaza:
Hillary Clinton blasts ‘unfair’ world reaction over Gaza, cites …“Former US secretary of state and potential presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton issued a staunch defense of Israel over its conduct of the war against Hamas, placed full ultimate responsibility on Hamas for the deaths of children and other innocent people, and defended Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s insistence on maintaining security control in the West Bank in the next few years.:
In defending Israeli attacks on Gaza, Bernie Sanders said “you have situation where Hamas is sending missiles into Israel,” adding that those rockets are often originating from populated areas. As members of his audience began to shout out their opposition to his statements, Sanders responded, “Excuse me! Shut up! You don’t have the microphone.”
Unnecessary American Wars Abroad
(Hillary Clinton) is more hawkish than Obama or Trump…. and seems likely to get the US heavily involved in the region again. It is not clear that she would actually do anything about continued illegal Israeli squatting on Occupied Palestinian land.

Clinton’s comments, along with those of ex-CIA and Pentagon head Leon Panetta—”I think we’re looking at kind of a 30-year war”—show that “any doubts about whether Endless War – literally – is official American doctrine should be permanently erased,” Glenn Greenwald writes at The Intercept.

The attack on Kosovo is hardly the extent of (Bernie) Sanders‘ hawkishness. While it’s true he voted against the Iraq War, he also voted in favor of authorizing funds for that war and the one in Afghanistan. More recently, he voted in favor of a $1 billion aid package for the coup government in Ukraine and supported Israel’s assault on Gaza.
Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and another dozens Republican and Democrat pro-war party candidates are not our only options.
Dr. Jill Stein has better ideas: a plan to secure the peace and turn the ship of state:
“Our Power to the People Plan lays out these solutions in a blueprint to move our economy from the greed and exploitation of corporate capitalism to a human-centered system that puts people, planet and peace over profit. This plan would end unemployment and poverty; avert climate catastrophe; build a sustainable, just economy; and recognize the dignity and human rights of everyone in our society. The plan affirms that we have the power to take our future back:
We have the power to create a Green New Deal, providing millions of jobs by transitioning to 100% clean renewable energy by 2030.
We have the power to provide to a living-wage job and workers rights for every American.
We have the power to end poverty and guarantee economic human rights.
We have the power to make health-care a human right through an improved Medicare for All system.
We have the power to provide education as a right and abolish student debt.
We have the power to create a just economy.
We have the power to protect Mother Earth.
We have the power to end institutional racism, police brutality and mass incarceration.
We have the power to restore our Constitutional rights.
We have the power to end our wars of aggression, close foreign bases and cut military expenditures 50%
We have the power to empower the people.”
It is time, with this new declaration of independence from the corporate cons, that we take back this nation, and our lives, from these pretenders. Viva la revolution!

“Some people are so afraid they cannot find the courage to debunk the junk and face facts. And increasing numbers don’t want to know truths which may be too terrible to bear.”
A surrender to corporate elites has bankrupted the nation, lowered wages and shipped critical jobs overseas. We can do much better .

“Sen. Sanders is deeply troubled by the outbreak of violence in Gaza. It is extraordinarily depressing that year after year, decade after decade, the wars and killing continue without any apparent progress toward the creation of a permanent peace. While the summer of 2014 was a particularly contentious time in the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, Sen. Sanders’ hope is that the United States will, in the future, help play a leading role in creating a permanent two-state solution. To achieve that outcome the U.S. must work with the international community to support a settlement that respects the legitimate claims and grievances of both sides, lifts the blockade of Gaza, resolves the borders of the West Bank, and allows both the Israeli and Palestinian people to live in peace.
“The bottom line is that Israel must have the right to exist in peace and security, just as the Palestinians must have the right to a homeland in which they and they alone control their political system and their economy.
“Sanders believes the Israeli attacks that killed hundreds of innocent people – including many women and children – in bombings of civilian neighborhoods and UN controlled schools, hospitals, and refugee camps were disproportionate, and the widespread killing of civilians is completely unacceptable. Israel’s actions took an enormous human toll, and appeared to strengthen support for Hamas and may well be sowing the seeds for even more hatred, war and destruction in future years.
“The U.S. can and must play a more constructive role in promoting diplomatic efforts to achieve a lasting peace in Gaza. Sen. Sanders believes the ceasefire agreement that was reached is an important step in the right direction. He believes strict adherence, by all sides, to the tenets of international humanitarian law is necessary in order to avoid the escalation of this conflict.”

This is all well and good… and self-serving. But when you look at what Bernie has done, he joined everyone else in supporting and condoning the murders in Gaza perpetrated by Israel. This is unacceptable. Bernie is an advocate for ongoing war. He votes to fund wars of choice across the globe. Talk is cheap. But we know he votes for war.

He’s voted against more than a few Pentagon budgets.

Actually, he has not voted against ANY Pentagon budgets. He has funded every Obama war.

But he voted to support the attacks on Gaza which killed thousands…
And he will continue to do so. We need someone who will shut down ALL corporate wars of choice, including those in the West Bank and Gaza. Bernie is not willing or able.

Nobody is defending his position on Gaza here, but I don’t approach candidates/politics with 1,001 litmus tests that need to be passed before I support someone/something that is, in general and despite its many flaws, progressive and a huge step forward.

Candidates who support avoidable and unnecessary wars in Gaza, the West Bank and elsewhere may be “lesser evils,” but we know after the last 36 years that lesser evils disappoint, cost trillions of dollars in wasted resources and millions of lives. There comes a time when one must not vote out of fear, but vote with courage for peace, justice and Freedom. Bernie is a conservative who talks the talk about economics but will not talk about peace and building a future. He is there as a distraction from critical issues. When you want to talk about peace, he says “shut up, I have the microphone.”
But Jill Stein has the experience, credentials and a plan for peace, justice and freedom. Why not vote your values instead of your fears? Dr. Jill Stein is the ticket.
She has a plan for shutting down dozens of wars of choice, including the ongoing brutality in Gaza and the West Bank. It is way past time we got past the last five angry and militant men, and put a capable, professional woman (and distinguished physician) in the White House.
Dr. Jill Stein can provide the critical transition from exporting munitions, terror and war… to exporting knowledge, technology and medical and agricultural expertise… along with peace in our time.
Let’s allow her to help heal a nation in distress.
Stein was endorsed for President in 2012 by Noam Chomsky, a linguist, author and activist, and by Chris Hedges, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and war correspondent, among others. She is as real as it gets.”

Sanders endorses the murders in Gaza and says he will continue providing arms to both Israel and Saudi Arabia. When his constituents protested Bernie’s warlike ways, he had them arrested or told them to shut up.
Bernie Sanders has a very public record, in the congressional record. He votes to support the expansion of empire through wars for profit.

Bernie, Trump, Cruz and Hilary are on the same page: more wars, bombs, drones, assassinations, murders and conflicts for the corporate bottom line. The only peace candidate is Jill Stein.
