Occupy is a liberation movement created by people, the theoretical 99%, in response to a global economic crisis. We fought the rich and the rich won. The 1-5%, the richest of the rich, are misusing and abusing the rest of us… because they can.
In 2018 we must stop supporting corporate criminals in both parties.
Transnational corporations have betrayed the American people by refusing to support real candidates with sustainable plans and a vision for the future. Endless war is not inevitable and we make a difference. We must organize for the ongoing struggle.
Longer-term thinkers in many business communities are beginning to wake up.
The corporate gravy train of endless war is unsustainable and untenable. This generator of short-term profits simultaneously creates long-term liabilities. Some of these liabilities are raising their ugly heads.
Those who continue to fund destabilization, aggression, occupation and wars-of-choice must be held accountable. If we hold their feet to the fire, corporate executives will rearrange investment priorities.
Our task is to force them to move that money.
This will take better journalism and reporting along with effective schools, proactive libraries, and engaged universities. Foundations, non-profits, unions, churches and neighborhood organizations (Black Lives Matter, Don’t Shoot, 15 Now, Universal Single-Payer, Green Peace, Fellowship of Reconciliation and many more) must become dedicated to raising awareness, changing priorities and seizing the day.
Solutions are clear, compelling and possible.
We can shut down corporate wars of choice. These corporate mercenaries can hire their own troops or scale back their ambitions. This will save trillions of taxpayer dollars.
We must implement universal single-payer, nonprofit health care and no longer allow transnational insurance cartels to control health care delivery while raising rates and deductibles. We can no longer leave 30 million or more Americans to suffer while others lose their homes due to medical debt. Change requires courage and activism.
Peace and nonprofit health care will save trillions of dollars. We can invest these funds in infrastructure, jobs with justice and securing a sustainable future on a healing planet.
“We need independent, intelligent leaders with courage, vision, and values. And we need to look to 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th parties who are not bought and paid for by the Fortune 500.
“Ignorance and prejudice are the handmaidens of propaganda. Our mission, therefore, is to confront ignorance with knowledge, bigotry with tolerance, and isolation with the outstretched hand of generosity. Racism can, will, and must be defeated.”

If you are tired of wage theft, slave labor and working poverty… abandon the corporate cons and war-profiteers who gave us twenty seven unnecessary wars, joblessness and recession while sacrificing the peace to please munitions contractors. It is time to stand firm.”

“We can choose more sustainable and productive investments:
functioning schools, non-profit health care delivery, responsive government, hospitals, research & development, housing, parks, libraries, foundations, ports, bridges, railroads, electrical grids, environmental maintenance, exploration, ocean research, space projects, scientific research and healing the planet.”
